Private Villa with Infinity Pool in Gerês
Two private villas in Louredo, Gerês, with an infinity pool looking out over the waterfall and the mountains of Peneda-Gerês National Park.
An Infinity Pool in the Heart of Gerês
Gerês Paradise is a private villa retreat in Louredo, Vieira do Minho, about five minutes' drive from Peneda-Gerês National Park. The infinity pool is the centre of the property: it sits on the edge of the grounds with an open view of the waterfall and the mountains beyond, so the water and the landscape feel like one thing rather than two.
Our two houses, Serenity Villa and Infinity Villa, each have four bedrooms, seven bathrooms (three in the ground-floor one-bedroom apartment and four in the top-floor three-bedroom apartment) and room for up to 10 guests. You can rent the whole house, or a floor with its own separate entrance: a three-bedroom unit, or a one-bedroom unit with its own kitchen and living room. The pool and the jacuzzi are shared between those two units of the same villa, because both belong to the same house.
The infinity pool is not heated. It is at its best from late spring through early autumn, when the days are warm and a swim is exactly what the afternoon calls for. The heated jacuzzi runs all year round, and after a day on the trails it is the best seat in the house.
Why Guests Choose the Infinity Pool
The details that make the pool the centre of a stay at Gerês Paradise.
Infinity edge
A pool that blends into the landscape, with the waterfall and the mountains directly in front of you.
Heated jacuzzi
The jacuzzi is heated and used all year round, including after cold-weather hikes.
Room for 10
Each villa has four bedrooms, seven bathrooms and space for up to 10 guests.
Stay connected
Fibre internet and high-speed Wi-Fi, with air conditioning and central heating for every season.
The Villa Behind the Pool
Inside, the houses are set up for slow days as much as for outings. Every bedroom is a private suite with its own bathroom, and the living spaces open onto the terrace and the pool. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there is a wine cellar for evenings in.
The property also has a small gym with the option of trainers and therapists, and guests can book massages and yoga classes on demand. Catering can be arranged at special pricing on request, and airport transfers are available if you would rather not drive.
Both villas have air conditioning and central heating, private parking and fibre internet. Gerês Paradise is licensed local accommodation (AL 163176/AL).
Getting Here and Getting Out
Louredo is around 1 hour 15 minutes by car from Porto airport and about 40 minutes from Braga. The national park begins a few minutes from the gate, so the waterfall viewpoints, the river beaches and the trails of the Peneda-Gerês are all within easy reach of the pool.
If you are planning days out, our guide to the waterfalls of Gerês covers the cascades, lagoons and trails across the park, and our villas page sets out both houses side by side.
